Cilantro blooms and 'The Fairy' Rose

I passed this pleasing  little display last night in  my garden.  It reminded me of a spring wedding.  Who knew Cilantro, going to seed, could be a stand-in for  Baby's Breath?  I didn't!  In Texas, it's pretty difficult to grow Gypsophila, commonly named Baby's Breath.  I may have to add planting the seeds around all my roses to my future 'to-do' lists!

TEXAS WILDFLOWERS

Sunday on the way back from our orchid trek, we passed a field of Texas wildflowers.  We owe so much to our late Lady Bird Johnson who taught us how beautiful Texas could be.

This past Sunday a friend invited me to an open house at D&B Orchids where Dotty and Berry Woodson grow their amazing Orchids.  I was blown away at the beauty of the colors and architectural beauty of all the different varieties.   It was a pleasant spring day well spent.

Chartreuse!

I have a weakness for plants with chartreuse foliage.  It seems to add a little ‘happy’ to any spot I add it to.  I’m not alone in this, as it seems the hybridizers are continually creating more and more new lemony lime leaved varieties every day.  These are just a few examples of some that I’ve acquired.
Coleus 'Henna'

Coleus 'Indian Summer'

Abelia 'Kaleidoscope' with Euphorbia cotinifolia

Sumac 'Tiger-Eyes'-   Rhus typhina 'Bailtiger' with  Purple Heart -Tradescantia pallida etc.

Heuchera 'Pistache' etc.

Artemisia vulgaris 'Limelight'

Miscanthus sinensis 'Gold Bar'

I've lost the tag for this Iris so I can't remember which one it is.  Since it is blooming so magnificently today, on what would be my mother's 83rd birthday, I shall dedicate it to her.

Water overflowing!

This potted display is in front of the fountain above.  It appeared to have water coming from the pot.

FORT WORTH BOTANICAL GARDENS pt.2

I wish that I could have taken more photos, as the gardens were spectacular.  I love the rain and I will take it any day of the week, but it did put a stop to any photo taking.  Stay tuned for more clear day
photos, of the gardens, in the near future.

FORT WORTH BOTANICAL GARDENS pt. 1

Some friends and I visited the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens this past Easter Sunday.  I was able to get a few shots before the rain took over.

Well I've finally done it.  I've used up all my gigs for Blogspot.  From now on I will be paying to show off!  If it brings joy or inspiration to anyone out there, it's well worth my time and money.

I have more photos of the Ft Worth Botanical Garden, but will have to show them, after my payment goes through.

So for now, The blog continues............
